About

I live in Lincoln, UK and work in the School of Education at the University of Lincoln. Between 2010 and 2019, I researched and wrote about co-operative higher education with Mike Neary. Some of that work was collected for my PhD.

Previously, I worked as audiovisual archivist for Amnesty International’s Secretariat (2004-8) and as a film archivist at the British Film Institute’s conservation centre (2002-4). I studied Film Archiving at the University of East Anglia (2002) and between 1998-2001, I lived in Japan and acted as a conduit and curator for Japanese, European and American avant-garde film and video artists. During the 1990s, I studied Zen Buddhism and Japanese, first at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London (1993-96), and then at the University of Michigan (1996-8).
